- Through testimony convinced the Porterville City
Council not to reinstitute a city planning commission.
- Successfully gained the repeal of the Visalia
School Fee Overlay Ordinance.
- Increased the FHA maximum loan limits through
HUD.
- Helped reduce development impact fees by over
38% in Tulare.
- Wrote Assembly Bill 2823 (Harvey), unlicensed
contractors are now restricted from pulling business licenses.
This protects the licensees and consumers.
- Through our efforts Visalia ceased the automatic
inflation of development impact fees.
- The required annual impact fee reporting by
all cities and school districts is now enforced due to HBA efforts.
- Negotiated the VAMA Agreements with HUD.
- The City of Visalia adopted the allowance for
5,000 sq. ft. lot and building standards through our input.
- City of Lemoore increased building inspections
from three to five days per week per the HBAs request.
- Gained a compromise on corner lots R-1-6 zoning
in the City of Hanford.
- City of Hanford revised and lowered building
permit and processing fees and refunded nearly $60,000 to builders.
- Convinced Visalia, Tulare and Lemoore City Councils
to defer collection of impact fees from permit to occupancy.
- Since 1989 saved home builders over 100 million
dollars in service fees, regulatory costs and impact fees.
